Light Pull Handmade Ceramic with Round Top Pottery bathroom light pull handle

Light pulls are made in my home studio in Dorset

Each Light Pull is approximately 6cm high and 2.5 cm wide at the base

Simply thread the pull cord through the top and tie a knot in the string – the knot will be hidden inside the light pull

Each light pull is dipped in a coloured glaze at the top and a clear glaze for the bottom third.

Perfect for a Bathroom light pull handle, extractor fan pull cord and blind pull cords.

The Process

The first light pull was thrown on my wheel at my home studio in Dorset and after drying to leather hard I made a plaster mould from it.

I use that mould to cast light pulls using a white stoneware casting slip, as it comes out of the mould I use a 5mm drill bit, twisted in my fingers, to put a hole in the top (this shrinks to 4mm in firing)

It is then allowed to dry to bone dry and bisque fired to 1000 deg C

It is then glazed and fired to 1222 deg C which is cone 6 and after about a day of cooling they are ready
