Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) milk
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
  • 3/4 cup (130g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Place the flour in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the flour reaches 160°F (71°C) on an instant-read thermometer. Let it cool completely.
  2. Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together on medium-high until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until the base is smooth and glossy.
  4. Sift in the heat-treated flour and salt. Mix on low speed just until the flour disappears.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips by hand until evenly distributed.
