Ingredients
– 4-5 lb beef brisket
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 2 teaspoons salt
– 1 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– ½ cup beef broth
– 1 cup barbecue sauce
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
2. Rub the brisket with olive oil.
3. Mix salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the brisket.
4. Place the seasoned brisket in a large roasting pan or Dutch oven. Pour beef broth into the pan and cover tightly with a lid or foil.
5. Cook in the oven for 4-5 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily pulled apart with a fork.
6. Remove the brisket from the oven and increase the temperature to 375°F (190°C). Brush barbecue sauce over the brisket, then return to the oven uncovered for 20-30 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
7. Let the brisket rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
Enjoy!
