Ingredients:
- 2 lbs green cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup white onion, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
- Cut the cabbage into quarters, remove the tough core, and slice into thin ribbons.
- Thinly slice the onion into half-moons and mince the garlic finely.
- Heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Once the butter foams, add the sliced onions and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until translucent and golden-brown.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
- Increase heat slightly and add the shredded cabbage, stirring to coat in the garlic butter.
- Let the cabbage sit undisturbed for 2–3 minutes to sear and develop caramelized edges.
- Season with salt and cracked black pepper, then stir in the apple cider vinegar just before removing from heat.
