Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, toss the cubed chicken breast with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until every piece is evenly coated.
- Heat the olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until the oil shimmers and almost smokes.
- Add the chicken in a single layer. Sear for 3–4 minutes without moving them until they are golden brown and crisp.
- Flip the pieces and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the exterior is browned on all sides.
- Lower the heat to medium. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until you smell that strong garlic aroma.
- Pour in the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
- Stir constantly for 2–3 minutes until the sauce bubbles and reduces into a thick, glossy coating.
- Remove from heat immediately once the sauce clings to the chicken to prevent the honey from burning and tasting bitter.
