Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, toss the cubed chicken breast with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until every piece is evenly coated.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until the oil shimmers and almost smokes.
  3. Add the chicken in a single layer. Sear for 3–4 minutes without moving them until they are golden brown and crisp.
  4. Flip the pieces and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the exterior is browned on all sides.
  5. Lower the heat to medium. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until you smell that strong garlic aroma.
  6. Pour in the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
  7. Stir constantly for 2–3 minutes until the sauce bubbles and reduces into a thick, glossy coating.
  8. Remove from heat immediately once the sauce clings to the chicken to prevent the honey from burning and tasting bitter.
