– 12 slices thick-cut bacon
– 1/4 cup brown sugar
– 2 tablespoons maple syrup
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
2. Prepare the Bacon:
Lay the bacon slices in a single layer on the wire rack.
3. Mix Topping:
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
4. Coat the Bacon:
Brush or spoon the sugar mixture evenly over each slice of bacon.
5. Bake:
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and caramelized. Watch closely to prevent burning.
6. Cool and Serve:
Allow the bacon to cool for a few minutes on the rack before serving.
