Creamy Sausage and Cheddar Cheese Dip

Ingredients

– 1 pound breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
– 8 oz cream cheese, softened
– 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– 1/2 cup sour cream
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1/2 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Directions

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked (about 6-8 minutes). Drain any excess fat.

Lower the heat and add the cream cheese to the skillet, stirring until it begins to melt and incorporate with the sausage.

Add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, stirring constantly until the cheese melts and the mixture becomes smooth.

Stir in sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Continue stirring until everything is well combined.

Transfer the dip to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.

Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced vegetables.
